Rutland is a lovely county, small, but perfectly formed with a smashing body of water ideal for bird and wildlife spotting!

Perhaps the best known garden is Barnsdale Garden near Oakham. Famous as the home garden of BBC Gardeners World programme Geoff Hamilton.

But there is also the quirky and little know Yew Tree Avenue which is well worth a visit – its free as well!

And don’t forget you can take in the splendour of Rutland Water close by!
