About Ashridge House Gardens
Ashridge House Gardens are considered the ‘finest surviving example of Humphry Repton‘s work’.
There is always something in bloom in one of the many garden rooms or features.
These include the Rose Garden, Monks’ Garden, Fernery, Liquidambar walk, Italian Garden, Arbour, Herb Garden, Moat and the Welingtonia & Rhododendron Walk!
The Bakehouse Café in the courtyard offers a homemade seasonal menu including pastries, teas and coffee.
You can take a proper Afternoon Tea in one of the Heriatge rooms.
One special note is the highly rated ‘Illuminated Light Trail’ which takes place each in the run up to christmas and New Year.
This does mean that the gardens are closed at this time.

Don’t take our word for how genuinely super these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Ashridge House Gardens had to say:
“The gardens are absolutely stunning and you can’t get enough of it.
The bakehouse has a very charming interior and the food is fairly priced and delicious.”
“Gardens were nice and quiet when we went. I’d say we were between seasons, early spring flowers fading, azaleas out but a bit too soon for the rhododendrons.
A beautiful place to wander around.”
“The star of the show, for me at least, was the gardens.
There are so many plant varieties and trees from all around the world that you can just meander for hours and still find something new. “
“The grounds are magnificent, the decor is simply grand!”
