Benmore Botanic Garden is set in 120 acres and is home to plants from Himalaya, China and Japan, North and South America.
If you fancy a climb of 450ft (137m) there are spectacular views across Holy Loch and mountains.
What to watch out for:
Giants of Benmore – if you like Redwoods, Scots Pine, Douglas Fir and Monkey Puzzle trees you are in luck – they have big ones!
Rhododendrons – spring and summer brings 300 species from the world-leading rhododendron collection
Wildlife – can you spot the red squirrels, sparrowhawks and the occasional Golden Eagle? A hide is available to use as well.
Victorian Fernery – spectacular greenery from this Victorian structure among the rocks and walls.
As well as the gardens there is the Botanic Shop and the Redwood Cafe.
Dogs are allowed in the gardens on leads but not in the fernery.
