Scavenger Hunt anyone?
The Blackfordby Open Gardens promises to be another great day out for all of the family.

As well as the 12 gardens or so (some only open on the Saturday) there is a scavenger hunt for the kids and a show in the village hall for all on the Sunday between 12 and 4pm.

As for the gardens there is a terrific mix of wild areas, fruit gardens, raised beds and a very hardy Siberian Honeysuckle.

And don’t forget to check out the herb beds which includes sage, thyme, mint, lemon balm and rhubarb.

And can you find the hidden thatched cottage as featured on the BBC gardeners World?

The gardens are spread far and wide across the village but can all be reached on foot from the car park.

It is suggested you follow the recommended route on your map.

Proceeds

The proceeds of the open days are donated to to local charities and good causes.

Tickets

Tickets can be bought on the day from Blackfordby Village Hall and field car park off Main Street. You will be given a wristband and map with a recommended route.

Tickets are valid for both days and the village show.

Refreshments

Refreshments are available from the Blackfordby Old School Room (on Saturday), off Main Street and at the Village Hall (on Sunday), off Sandtop Lane.

Yes, there are toilets at the event at the Old School Room (Saturday only) and at Blackfordby Village Hall (Sunday only) or both days at The Black Lion Pub.
