About Boscobel House Garden
Boscobel House Garden is an English Heritage property and is perhaps best known for its Royal Oak Tree used by Prince Charles to hide in during the Civil War!
The gardens are a 17 Century mix of box gardens with peonies and artemisias planting.
There is a small mound to climb where Charles was said to have read a book.
For children there is an excellent play area and the Folktale Creature Trails to take part in.
The Victorian Farmyard shows you how life was on a farm and the timber framed House built in 1632 is open to be explored.
The interactive candles are a real highlight!
Can you find the Priest Hole used by Charles?
You can take refreshments at the Tea Room or bring a picnic as there are plenty of benches dotted throughout the grounds.
There is a short walk to the 12th Century White Ladies Priory, ruins now, where our old friend Charles hid out.
