About Broomhill Sculpture Gardens
This information is just a snapshot to get you intrigued – best to visit the website for full details!
The Broomhill Sculpture Gardens are set in a rather hilly and mystical woodland.
This is the first sculpture garden I took my last dog to back in about 2014 and we had a great time.
I went back a couple of times as there was always plenty to see.
I am sure you are not supposed to but as there was often nobody else there (I went in mid October) I let her off the lead and she had a great run around.
There were always plenty of sculptures to see and sometimes they just popped out of nowhere as you walked around the gardens.
It wasn’t well sign posted or perfectly manicured but for me this made it far more enjoyable just exploring and seeing what turned up.
As you may have seen the hotel and gardens are shut as of winter 2024 but hopefully the new owners will open the gardens again in 2025.
Generally it is not easy terrain for wheelchair access – this may change but there were a lot of paths that were not suitable for disbaled access.

Plenty of sculptures to see, dog friendly, good for exploring, nice cafe, fun for kids
Cons
Hilly to walk on, not organised, tricky terrain
“Well worth a visit as there are many sculptures to see in semi wild settings.”
Eating & Drinking
There was the Terrace Cafe by the hotel but this may change with the new owners.
And the restaurant in the hotel always got good reviews.

Accessibility
Purely a subjective view based on what I saw and this may change with the new owners but the majority of the gardens are unsuitable for mobility scooters, wheelchair users and prams.
That said you can go to the lower levels and make your way around and view from there.
The gardens are free to enter for wheelchair users and assistance dogs are welcome.
Toilets
Toilets including disabled toilets are in the main hotel.
Parking
There is a main car park with 60 parking bays.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed on a short lead in the gardens and in the Terrace Cafe.
