About Burnby Hall Gardens

Burnby Hall Gardens were originally created by Percy and Katharine Stewart and are now managed by the Stewarts Trust.

Decades of work now means you have a set of glorious features headlined by the magnificent Upper and Lower Lakes.

With 100 varieties of Waterlily flowering best from June to August the lakes are also packed full of carp, koi and roach.

The Aviary Garden is the centre piece of the Tulip Festival in late April and May.

Expect to see contemporary planting in the Walled Garden, all round colour in The Edwardian Rock Garden and The Stumpery has a Hobbit themed entrance and is home to lots of bugs and wildlife!

The Birch Walk is a gold medal winner with 40 trees planted and seasonal hydrangeas.

You can get refreshments at the The Lilypad Café which has snacks, light bites, cakes, traybakes and hot and cold beverages.

Gluten and vegan options – yay!

There is also the Burnaby Gift Shop for cards, children’s toys and small gifts.

The Stewart Museum is worth a visit as it contains many interesting objects from his 8 world tours – lucky chap!
