About Burton Constable Hall & Garden

Burton Constable Hall & Garden is a parkland area of 330 acres designed by our old friend Capability Brown! He does get around!

Have a wander around the grounds, there are five marked trails to follow if you wish and there is a 1 hour Little Explorers Trail for the kids.

Walks are by the lake, across Brown bridge, Wildlife Sculpture Trail, the interesting ‘What Was Here Trail‘ and the restored Ha-ha and into woodlands.

And keep an eye out for the rare-breed cattle and sheep wandering around – keep dogs on a lead!

There is a small formal garden and an 18th Century Orangery now full restored and an ideal spot for picnics and family games on the lawn.

The Stables Kitchen is open for refreshments each day and is free to enter, no ticket needed. Dogs welcome!

There is also the Gift Shop located in the Stable Block.

The House really is worth a tour around if you have the time.

And there are often events held at Burton Constable so check those out if you want to take part.

Visitor Reviews of Burton Constable Hall & Garden

Google Visitor Review Score 4.6 stars

Don’t take our word for how genuinely super these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Burton Constable Hall & Garden had to say:

” The landscaped gardens are worth exploring and a map is provided with suggested routes. There is a tea room and gift shop.”

” Lovely grounds that are wanderable. Cafe very nice, and staff/volunteer guides are very knowledgeable and friendly.”

We only went in the grounds but our toddler loved it. She especially loved dressing up and playing in the carriage house and finding the animals on the wildlife sculpture trail on the 5k walk.”
