About Castle Howard Gardens
Castle Howard Gardens are of course set in the magnificent grounds of the Castle Howard Estate.
As for the gardens there is plenty to see with key features including the great lakes, Walled Garden, which is open seasonally, the ornamental woodland and many statues and grand temples.
The Walled Garden was originally a Kitchen Garden bit is now laid out with a Rose Garden and a Potager, where produce grown is used in the kitchens and sold in the Farm Shop.
A garden ticket also gets you access to the popular Skelf Island Adventure Playground!
Watch out for the wildlife from badgers to bats, birds of prey to invertebrates and even rare species of flora and fungi – what can you see?
And don’t forget there are some great places to get refreshments and to shop – you know it makes sense!
Dogs at Castle Howard Gardens
Dogs on short leads are welcome in most areas including cafes.
But assistance dogs only in the Adventure Playground or in the House.
