About the Castle of Mey Garden
The Castle of Mey Garden is best described as a ‘romantic and unique walled garden‘.
The wall itself is 12 feet to high to offer protection from the winds.
There is something of interest all year round due to the varied planting.
From vegetables, fruits, grasses, rhododendrons to fuchsias.
And the produce goes straight to be used wherever it can in the Tearoom!
As well as the walled garden there is Animal Centre with Alice, the donkey, duck, pigs, geese, sheeps, goslings and animals to be fed.
Dogs are allowed in most areas but not in the Castle, Walled Garden, Visitor Centre or Animal Centre
The Visitor Centre has a Gift Shop and Tearoom and is a cashless facility.
The 16th Century Castle was owned by the Queen Mother but is now in the care of a Trust.
You can take a tour which costs extra to the gardens . No photographs in the Castle.
