What Visitors like about Chillingham Castle Garden
Visitors enjoyed the gardens describing them as well maintained and atmospheric with colourful flowers, buzzing bees and butterflies and a charming walled garden.
Many also enjoyed the surrounding woodland walks particularly among the impressive giant redwood trees as well as paths leading to the lake.
About Chillingham Castle Garden
Chillingham Castle Garden is known as Britain’s Most Haunted Castle!
There plenty to see with the formal gardens containing the longest herbaceous border in the North of England.
There are lots of statues and fountains dotted around the classically designed gardens.
The woodlands are open to explore and look out for wildlife for red squirrels, badgers, foxes, rabbits and deer.
Expect to see superb views over to the Cheviots and the surrounding countryside.
And the lakes are surrounded by birch trees and grasses and packed full with brown trout!
As well as the gardens you can take refreshments in the Tea Room with tea, coffee, hot food and cakes all available.
The Castle is a brilliant place to tour including the torture chamber!
And, if you are brave enough, can stay the night and do the ghost tour!
Nearby are the Wild Beasts of Chillingham – its a separate attraction but wort a check on the wild cattle.
