About Cragside House & Garden

Cragside House & Garden describes itself as ‘Britain’s original smart home which sits at the heart of a grand fantasy garden.”

So what can you actually see while you are visiting? Quite a lot as it turns out!!

There are some trails to follow both on foot and by car – so get exploring.

The gardens themselves have some brilliant features such as the Rock Garden, Pinetum, Valley and Lakes.

But wait, there is so much more..

Like the Power House and Pump House which along with the Archimedes Screw provide light to the house.

As well as the house and garden there is a shop, tea room, playground for children and a picnic area.

And watch out for the red squirrels!

The house in an Arts and Crafts style and is open for viewing. (does seem to vary as to what is open though so check first!)

Dogs are allowed in the garden, shop and tea room.

Don’t take our word for how super duper these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Cragside House & Garden had to say:

“What a lovely place to spend a day just meandering around. Such a calming place.

The formal gardens were beautiful, we could have spent hours there.”

“Grounds always a pleasure to explore.”

“Spent 5 hours or so wandering around.

“The house was impressive and the gardens/estate were stunning.”

The tea room was busy but it didn’t take too long to be served.”
