About the Desert Botanical Garden
The Desert Botanical Garden are best explored taking the various trails that enable you to see the plants that thrive in some of the hottest and dryest condtions on the planet!
The Sonaron Desert Trail highlights how wildlife can survive in such testing condtions. What wildlife can you spot?
The Centre for Living Desert Trail demostrates how vegetables and herbs can be grown – take home some top tips.
The main trail is the Desert Discovery Trail features a wide range of historical cactus and succulents.
The Harriet K. Maxwell Trail shows how flowers, birds and insects all interact and thrive in the desert ecosystem.
The Plants & People Trail has five diverse habitats where you ca see how indigenous people have utilised plants for food, fiber and shelter.
The Cohn Family Butterfly Pavilion showcases the lifecycles of butterflies. Expect to find more than 2,000 butterflies help protect the desert environment.
There are many facilities for you in the gardens including Gertrude’s Restaurant for brunch, lunch, dinner and kids meals.
The Cafe is open for quick bites.
The gardens are super photogenic so don’t forget to take your camera or have plenty of charge on your mobile!
Only properly identified service animals are welcome at the Desert Botanical Garden apart from on Doggy Days.
