Farringford Gardens is the home of the writer Tennyson and his family in the 19th Century.

There is plenty to see with the walled garden, walks around the grounds including over Tennyson’s Bridge.

Look out for Emilys Arbour, which is a perfect place to sit and take in the heady scents.

The Greenhouse is worth a visit and the Magnolia Tree, from which Tennyson would pluck a flower each morning for his wife, is still going strong!

Wildlife is abundant with red squirrels, peregrine falcons and little owls all present – if you can spot them!

Dogs are welcome in the gardens on a lead.

They are not allowed in the house though.

House Tours need to be booked.
