About Forde Abbey & Gardens
Forde Abbey & Gardens has been evolving for the last 900 years. Hopefully that means some plants are well established!
What it home to is the UK’s tallest powered fountain! And a bog garden. And formal gardens and an arboretum.
The more formal gardens near to the house gradually turn into meandering pathway with plenty of benches for you to rest on, if required.
This is gardens on a big scale. A huge kitchen garden under a lot of glass awaits you and there is a walled garden and the Swirl or The Spiral Garden is worth a look in Spring as 10,000 tulips mix with wildflowers to create an amazing display.
Dogs are allowed in the grounds and coffee shop, yay! But not in the house. Fair enough.
There is Free parking, a Gift Shop (including Eeles Pottery), Plant Nursery and a Coffee Shop serving light bites, snacks and cakes.
