About Hestercombe Gardens
Hestercombe Gardens is a 50 acre estate with gardens dating back to the 1750’s.
I think they have probably done some work on them since then!
It is perfect for a family day out with lots to see and do including duck feeding, walking trails and a good cafe!
From the formal landscaped designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens to the smaller Victorian Shrubbery and the impressive Great Cascade and on to two ponds there really is a lot to see. And be impressed by!
If you are looking for refreshments then try the Stables Restaurant, Caffe & Gelato.
For all your shopping needs there is a Gift Shop and Plant Centre.
And if you like art there is the superb contemporary art gallery on site as well.
Dogs are welcome on a lead throughout the gardens, shops, restaurant and cafe, and parts of Hestercombe House (excluding the Gallery).
No picnics in the gardens but there is a dedicated picnic area!
There is the annual Illuminate trail for you to walk through around Christmas time.

” If you love visiting gardens then this is well worth a trip. Beautifully designed with lovely trails to follow (Good map provided).
The main gardens are just amazing too with a great variety of plants.
The house has a shop and also a second hand book shop.
By the entrance is a nice cafe, which serves the usual teas, coffees, cakes & snacks.”
