About Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens started off as a Quaker Arboretum and has now evolved into a 200 acre garden with meadows, formal gardens and winding paths to explore the varied plant displays.

Divided into key districts such as the Chimes Tower District, The Conservatory District, The House & Theater District, The Lakes District, The Fountain Garden District and The Meadow District.

This is gardens done on a grand and spectacular scale!

The centre piece of the gardens is really The Conservatory District which is a very large, several acres, of covered areas itself split into different gardens.

It reminds me of the glasshouse in Kew Gardens.

Due to the size of the gardens allow a good 3 to 4 hours at least to get around the main Districts.

There are many facilities for you in the gardens with dining options ranging form fine dining at 1906, a Cafe and a Beer Garden.

There is a first come first serve Picnic Area open from April to October.

Only properly identified service animals are welcome at Longwood Gardens.
