About the Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
The Magnolia Plantation & Gardens offer 6 miles of trails, gardens, swamps and a wildlife center.
The gardens were developed in the 1840’s and open to the public after the end of the Civil War.
Nowadays you can expect to see azalea, camellia, daffodils, roses, hydrangea, magnolia, and gardenia and later in the year Japanese Maple, Sweetgum and Bald Cypress.
There are Nature Train Tours to help you see more of the 400 acres of wetlands and swamps.
As well as the gardens there is plenty of wildlife in the Center but also you can spot alligators, otters, eagles and herons in the wild!
A tour of the house needs to be booked and has an additional cost.
There is a Gift Shop and the Peacock Cafe sells snacks, sweets and beverages including wine and beer.
Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden but not on the tours.
