About Mount Edgcumbe Gardens

Mount Edgcumbe Gardens has evolved over several hundred years and now covers seven acres incorporating many different garden styles.

Some of these include an Italian Garden, French Garden, English Garden, Fern Dell, Jubilee Garden, New Zealand Garden, American Garden, Rose Garden, The Relic Garden and a Bee Garden. And the intriguingly named Knot Garden – named after a style of Elizabethan garden!

There are lots of amenities for all the family on site including restaurants, alpaca trekking, a miniature railway and Twisted Metal Forge which is the home of blacksmith artist Mark Stevens.

His work can be seen in the grounds like the Deer Garden and are for sale.

The wider grounds are open year round and are free to enter with marked trails to follow.

Dogs are allowed in the gardens but must be under control.

Don’t take our word for how great these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Mount Edgcumbe Gardens had to say:

“Lots of nice walks and areas to sit & enjoy the views, very relaxing.”

“Mount Edgcumbe has great walks around the park and lovely coastal walks, which can take you to Kingsand and Cawsand.

The formal gardens are well kept, feed the ducks in the duck pond, or visit the folly. There’s a great pub too!”

“We didn’t go in the house but wandered around the garden which was lovely and went to look around the cafe area which also had the odd out buildings with other small businesses in them.

It’s definitely worth taking the ferry across to mount Edgcumbe to spend a few hours to see all the sights.”
