About Mount Stuart Gardens

Mount Stuart Gardens is, in their own words, a place of ‘majestic glory‘. And who are we to argue!

Set with the Firth of Clyde as its backdrop there are 300 of acres of gardens waiting to be explored.

Leading the grandeur is the arboretum with trees dating back many years and the pinteum with 800 towering conifers.

At the other end of the scale there are a number of smaller gardens. One indeed is called The Wee Garden!

There is also the kitchen garden and a rock garden.

The Courtyard Cafe uses produce from their own gardens and local suppliers to keep you well fed and watered.

Good news is well behaved dogs are allowed inside the cafe – on a lead!

And Dogs are allowed in part of the gardens but must be on a lead.

Not allowed in the wee garden, kitchen garden, glasshouse and rock garden.

But there is plenty of room elsewhere to run around!

Don’t take our word for how truly wonderful, and majestic, these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Mount Stuart Gardens had to say:

“The grounds are immaculate inside the grand entrance. There is so much to see everywhere you look.”

“Beyond the house are great outdoor areas to explore including gardens and a beach.

Great for families and picnics.

The on site cafe has a good selection and it’s reasonably priced.”

“Then go for a walk into the gardens. These are awesome, manicured areas, wild forests, beaches, a small church, a Victorian kitchen garden”
