The National Botanic Garden of Wales has so much to do its is worth planning ahead if, unlike me, you can do so!
With over 500 acres to explore they offer trail maps and apps to help you get around.
The Great Glasshouse is the biggest in the world and houses the largest collection of Mediterranean plants in the Northern Hemisphere.
There is also the Ghost Garden, the Wild Garden, the Apothecary Garden and Hall, Children’s play area, bee area, lakes, a dipping pond, Aqua Centre and so much more!!
You also get free entry to the Birds of Prey enclosure although displays are an extra charge.
Dogs are welcome in the estate but not The Glasshouse and Tropical House.
There are lots events on each month so make sure to check them out.
There is a good cafe and shop as well not surprisingly.
And there are special doggy days – see here for info – what a good idea!

Don’t take our word for how unique these gardens are. Here is what visitors to the National Botanic Garden of Wales had to say.
” Our family visit to the National Botanic Garden of Wales was absolutely lovely.
From the moment we arrived, we were drawn in by the peaceful, wide-open landscapes, which are both stunning and calming.”
” Doggy Days make this a great place to visit with our furry friends. We visited on a Friday and spent the day walking all the trails through meadows and woods, by streams, lakes, and waterfalls.
There are lots of benches to stop and sit on, and informative signs to tell you about the things you see. The cafe and shop are nice to visit and dog friendly too”
