About Paycocke’s House and Garden
Paycocke’s House and Garden isa 16th Century Tudor house built for cloth merchant Thomas Paycocke.
As for the garden this is a Arts and Crafts-style tiered cottage garden based on the design of Miriam Noel who was resident during Paycockes restoration.
In the garden you will find a number of features including the croquet lawn, amazing wisteria and vegetable garden.
There is a Courtyard garden with its 100 year old wisteria, a couple of lawns, ideal for Tea and Cakes, and a new wildflower meadow with a small pond.
You can book a guided tour of the house if you want to secure a time slot.
For the children there are indoor games in the Solar room and outdoor games like croquet and quoits!
And there is the Paycocke’s Garden Trail which is ideal for the family to learn more about the house and garden.
As well as the House and Garden you will find a Tea Room selling sandwiches, Teas and Cakes – always a good thing!
The Second Hand bookshop on the ground floor of the house.
