About Portmeirion Gardens

Portmeirion Gardens are of course part of the famous Portmeirion Village. Famous in my head at least for the cult TV series The Prisoner.

So as well as the gardens you can of course visit the village and its well worth it. I first went about 30 years ago! And still remember it to this day.

As for the gardens they too are really memorable. With 70 acres and 20 miles of tracks for you to explore you get great views, Japanese Gardens, lakes, woodlands.

And see if you can find the dog cemetery, a Ghost Garden, Tangle Wood, Shelter Valley and a lot more.

Portmeirion is well stocked with two restaurants and cafes for you to get refreshments at.

There are also lots of shops for you to scratch that itch including a Prisoner shop! (some may be closed during winter though)

Only assistance dogs are allowed in the gardens.

Don’t take our word for how stunning these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Portmeirion Gardens had to say.

” Very well maintained landscapes and lots of friendly staff available to help and guide you around the site.

We only stopped for a coffee at a cafe on the site which was reasonable priced and the coastal walk was lovely.

Our party included 3x families and 1x pushchair and we had no accessibility issues on the day. “

” A beautiful day out for all the family, so much to see and a lovely walk around the woodland path. you can picture yourself as the prisoner”
