About Raby Castle, Park & Gardens
Raby Castle, Park & Gardens is perhaps best known for its 18th Century Walled Garden with its famed Yew Trees and Raby Fig.
Spread over 5 acres it was recently remodelled to provide perfectly framed views, good for Instagram, and an air of peacefulness.
Check out the Formal, East & West gardens for herbs, seasonal produce, a maze and a grass amphitheatre offset by the ‘rill‘ water features.
As well as the gardens there is the Deer Park, with red and fallow deer, which is 200 acres of parkland for you to explore with plenty of good walking routes.
The Plotters’ Forest is a magical family adventure playground built of natural materials where you children can let their imagination run free!
You can get refreshments including vegan and gluten free options at The Vinery Café and Plotters’ Pantry.
Or bring a picnic to have in the designated picnic area.
Finally you can get some retails therapy at the Coach House where locally sourced artisanal crafts can be purchased.
You can of course take a tour of the Castle – try the Ruby Castle Quest Trail which is free to all who have Castle tickets!
