About Rufford Old Hall Garden
Rufford Old Hall Garden is a National Trust property and the garden offers several highlights for you to enjoy.
These include the South Lawn with its towering trees, Beech Walk Paddock by the canal, The Squirrel Border with its squirrel shaped topiary, the Orchard with its apple and pear tree and the Bee Hives.
The woodland is ideal for exploring with space for nature play and runs alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
The house offers guided tours in the morning and there are a good number of rooms to see from the Great Hall, Ante Room, Dining Room, Drawing Room and Study.
The Philip Ashcroft Collection exhibits local relics from South West Lancashire. Interesting!
As well as the gardens and house there is a Victorian tea-room selling cakes, hot and cold drinks and sandwiches.
There is seating indoors and outdoors if the weather allows.
A second hand bookshop is always good for a browse and there are several picnic tables dotted around the grounds.
And there are a number of activities for kids to do inside the house and grounds.
