Sandringham House Gardens sits in 20,000 acres – yup, that’s big!
So there is plenty to see with houses, churches, parklands and a children’s play area.
As for the gardens, you will spot the Topiary, Maze, Two ornamental lakes and Grottos, plural.
Why only have one if you can have two!
The parklands allow you to explore wider with marked trails and some orienteering routes as well.
And the children’s play area allows the young ‘uns to burn off some energy.
There is some good eating and shopping to be had in the Courtyard.
You have to book Afternoon Tea 48 hours in advance – be warned!!
The Terrace Takeaway Café offers snacks on the go for when you’re exploring extensive Royal Parkland.
During the Main season the Stables Cafe also opens.
There are numerous events on throughout the year such as the Luminate Sandringham Christmas Trail.
Dogs are allowed in the wider estate but not in the gardens or house. More info here
Please keep on a short lead as there is livestock around.

“Great family day out. The gardens are beautiful , and free to roam around. We enjoyed a picnic by the lake.
The church is worth popping into as it’s beautiful.
Followed the full walk around the gardens which leads back outside of the gardens to a children’s play area which is large and plenty to explore.”
