About Springhill Gardens
Springhill Gardens is well known for its walled Dutch Garden with its camomile, herb garden and Juniper Walk.
You will find something to see all year round from meadows of Buttercups in Summer to the varied Fungi in Autumn and Birch bark in winter.
The gardens aren’t huge but the walks in the wider estate have some smashing woodland trails like the Beech Walk for walking in planted with yew trees, firs, chestnut, ash and a beech avenue with the Sperrin Mountains as a backdrop.
For refreshments there is the Cafe ‘Bean at Springhill‘ which serves tea, coffee, scones, traybakes & soup!
And the second hand bookshop will have you browsing for something to read.
For children there is a natural play area and The Barn has an interactive space to play with toys or read a book.
The house is worth a visit , when open so check, with tours including the gun room, drawing room and dining room.
Perhaps Springhill isn’t as commercial as other National Trust properties but there is nothing wrong with that!
