The Lost Gardens of Heligan, do they need an introduction? A truly special and awe inspiring location with magical gardens.
When I first went there about 20 years ago it really opened my eyes as to what was capable of being grown in Cornwall.
But also just how someone’s imagination and determination had reclaimed the gardens from the land.
There is lots to see from the Productive (my favourite part) and Pleasure gardens to the Jungle, Woodlands and wider estate.
Allow plenty of time as there really is a lot to see.
There’s loads for kids to do from The Jungle, Play Meadow, Bug Garden, Jumping Pillow (I want a go!), Giant’s Head Adventure Play and the farm animals. As I said, plenty to do.
There’s Free Entry to the Heligan Kitchen, Garden Bites Takeaway, Shop and Plant Centre all year round.
So you can stock up on delicious local produce and leave with a full tummy.
Dogs are allowed in the gardens but do keep on a lead and clean up using the bins provided.
The Heligan Night Garden is an illumination trail at Christmas. Perfect!
