About The Yorkshire Arboretum

The Yorkshire Arboretum is a superb collection of 7,000 temperate based trees from around the world including Chile, Australasia, North America, Europe and Asia.

With 120 acres to explore, trails, woodlands and wildflower meadows they are ideal for a family day out with a picnic!

The wildflower meadows are home to many insects bumblebees, hoverflies, butterflies and moths.

The Red Squirrel Enclosure is free to enter and there are talks on Tuesday and Saturday at 10.30am. Open 10am to 3pm.

As well as the garden there is a cafe where you can get refreshments and is open from 10am to 4pm ( winter hours closes at 3pm)

Dogs are allowed in the gardens on shorts leads.

Not allowed inside the cafe or red squirrel enclosure obviously!
