Thorp Perrow Arboretum really is an ideal family day out with so much to do to entertain and educate!
Set in 100 acres Thorp Perrow is currently home to 5 National Plant Collections and 51 Champion Trees.
There is something of interest all year round from snowdrops and crocuses in Spring, trails in the summer, fungi talks in Autumn and a Winter Wonderland late in the year.
As well as the Arboretum there is the Birds of Prey and Mammal centre.
So if you and the kids fancy hand feeding the wallabies or checking out the bird of prey displays and enclosure which has eagles, falcons, owls, and a songbird aviary!
Finally, The Tea Room, which is open to all with no charge, offers locally sourced sourced food and children’s menus. Awesome!
Dogs are allowed in the Arboretum on a lead but not in the cafe, children’s play area or bird of prey area – in case they become lunch! (kidding!)
