About the Yorkshire Sculpture Park
This information is just a snapshot to get you intrigued – best to visit the website for full details!
The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a bit of must see attraction to visit.
I have been a couple of times and there is so much to see with many of the sculptures changing each year.
I took my dog and as it’s a regular dog we were not allowed inside to see some of the exhibits. Fair enough.
So we wandered around the extensive (500 acres!) grounds and had a great time!
We then went back and had lunch which was very good.
Herons nesting & more!
One time we were able to watch the nesting herons, through provided binoculars, which was fantastic!
There are new exhibitions inside and outside which change regularly and many other events so you will find plenty to keep you occupied.
The whole place is geared up to deal with a lot of people, dogs, children and those with disabilities.
For kids of all ages try their outdoor art finder – we had great fun with this!

My experiences were very positive and we greatly enjoyed our visits and hav been a few times.
Pros
Good dog walks, tasty food, nice views, plenty of parking, interesting sculptures, plenty to see and do, child friendly, disabled access

” We had an absolutely brilliant day out here. Lots to of sculptures see, beautiful grounds, cafes dotted just where you need them and accessibility is great.”
Local Weather & Forecast
Eating & Drinking
There are plenty of options for eating and drinking with about 5 cafes all serving food and drink.
My experience during a busy summer visit was the queues were not long and the food quality was good.
I would recommend booking where you can to avoid disappointment.
Accessibility
The YSP does a great deal to help and assist those with mobility issues.
I would recommend checking out their full page on accessibility here.
A large portion of the grounds are accessible via mobility scooters, which can be hired, although some ground is not always suitable.
There are plenty of toilets with disabled and baby changing facilities.
Toilets
There are plenty of toilet facilities throughout the park and in the cafes.
Parking
There is a free car park as part of your ticket.
Priority parking for Blue Badge holders is available in the main car park next to the Visitor YSP Centre.
Dogs
Dog are welcome but please keep on a short lead at all times. And clean up after your dog as well.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the cafes. Water is readily available. I can say that this is the case!
My experience was there are places where the dogs can have a bit more freedom but obviously be considerate of people and wildlife.
