Pensthorpe Gardens recommend you allow at least 4 hours to see their gardens. And even that may not be enough! Explore the Millennium Garden, Wildlife Habitat Garden, Corten Infinity Garden, The Glade Sculpture Garden and the Wave Garden.
A great chance to see flamingos, not exactly native but welcome none the less! And cranes as well including chicks at the right time of year.
This is a very family friendly garden with lots of activities for the children including sculpture trails, zip lines, tunnel and slides at the Wild Rootz area. More Details here

Created in 1990 the Gotha Gardens are a wonderful mix of woodland and wildlife walks (great for kids), rose gardens (over 150 varieties), ever changing spaces, a topiary and more formal gardens.
Keep an eye out in the summer for the many butterflies.
And a lot of people comment how the garden is a good size for walking with plenty of seating to pause and take in the scenic views. More Details here
