About Alhampton Open Gardens
A picnic haven!
The Alhampton Open Gardens in Somerset are open to benefit the nearby Haddon Wood.
Alhampton is a small village of about 70 houses and the gardens are a real mixture of formal, informal, riverside, mill houses, fruit and veg plots and child friendly gardens. Phew!
The village is fortunate to be home to two very well know gardeners Charles Dowding (famed for his ‘no dig gardening’) and Gert Schley (know for ‘letting his plants run free’).
So take advantage of taking inspiration from professional gardens you may never usually get to visit!
You can also take a picnic and pop into Haddon’s Wood which has 28 acres for you to wander into and enjoy the use of the picnic tables and benches.
Refreshments are provided by locals and the community owned pub.
