About Beale Arboretum

Beale Arboretum cover 35 acres of land as an integral park of West Lodge Park.

Created some 60 years ago by the Beale family there are now 800 species of trees with 4,500 actual trees.

Each year 50 specimen trees are added to help the Arboretum continuously evolve.

Some main features are the Pinetum, Biblical wall, Lake and Beehives!

The best time to visit is in May and early June or in the autumn around October to see the trees at their most vibrant.

Private tours are available with a minimum of 10 people.

Afternoon teas are available at the hotel – a perfect way to round off your walk around the arboretum!

The hard paths on the 35 acres of the Beale Arboretum are heavy going in a manual wheelchair.
