About Berkeley Castle Gardens
Berkeley Castle Gardens now specialise in scent so you will find roses aplenty as you wander around the gardens.
The best time to visit is in June with the flowers in full bloom, weather permitting.
Expect to see rare plants, shrubs and trees in among the terraces as well as the remains of bowling green where Elizabeth 1st allegedly played.
You will not want to miss the Lily Pond, a former swimming pool now home to Lilys!
And there is a small playground for the kids in the woodlands.
Seasonal food and drink are served at The Kitchen Garden which is open year round apart from some time over Christmas.
You can also visit the actual kitchen garden which the restaurant sources a lot of their produce from.
Don’t forget to take a tour of the Castle which has been home to the Berkeley family for over 850 years! Very interesting.
There are events held such as Medieval Jousting, Opera and Christmas Food Markets. Always good.
