About Breezy Knees Gardens
Breezy Knees Gardens describes itself as ‘The Flower Garden of Yorkshire’!
Just five miles from the centre of York there are 20 cares of gardens all bursting with colour.
With over 10,000 varieties of plants on display, and some sculptures, there is always something to see during the May to September opening season.
I like the way the gardens have some areas which don’t change much like the unique Stonehedge, Rose Sculpture, Arboretum and Lake.
But there are seasonal plantings in the Rock Garden, Pond and Shade Garden and Rose Garden.
And watch out for some seriously interesting horticultural interest in the Rabbit Path and the Rogues Gallery!
You can get refreshments at the Cafe, open 10.30am to 4.30pm, with tea, coffee, light lunches, soups, sandwiches and lots of homemade cakes, scones and pastries.
The Nursery is well worth a visit with thousands of perennials fully tested for the Yorkshire climate!
There are a number of events taking place such as the open air theatre, art classes and guided walks.
