About Cherryburn
Cherryburn is the birthplace of artist and naturalist Thomas Bewick, tucked away in the Tyne Valley.
You can take a peek inside the tiny cottage where he was born and visit the farmhouse where an exhibition detailing his life along with some original artworks.
The garden is ever evolving and really is a garden for all seasons with planting to attract wildlife.
The design is more wild and natural than manicured. And all the better for it in my opinion!
In summer the terrace has wildflowers attracting bees and the allotment is super productive with potatoes and edible flowers and late season plums.
A new addition is the ‘Silent Space’ in the quiter part of the garden for those who wish to havea bit of peace and quiet away from the crowds!
The good news is that the garden is ppretty accessible with seating, wheelchair friendly and pushchair friendly paths.
