Gardens open at 10 am and close between 4pm and 6pm.

About Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens

The Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens are set in 70 acres of land bang in the middle of Edinburgh.

I used to go as a kid growing up there and loved them! The Glasshouses were always warm which was very welcome!

Anyway, what can you expect to see during your visit?

Garden features include the Rock Garden, the Alpine Houses, Woodland Garden, Pond, the Arboretum, the Chinese Hillside, the Rhododendron Collection and the Scottish Native Plants Collection in the Heath Garden.

Watch out for lots of events during the year including Christmas at the Botanics.

There is ample eating, drinking and shopping opportunities!

Only assistance dogs are allowed in the gardens.
