About Edzell Castle and Garden

Edzell Castle and Garden dates back a wee bit, home to the Lindsays. The garden was added in 1604!

And indeed the walled garden is what makes this place so special which is best seen in July when all the bedding plants are in flower.

Look out for the four panels on the garden walls depicting the seven virtues, arts and deities!

And there is lots of wildlife spotting to be done as well from owls, squirrels, bats and hares.

Enjoy a wander around the now ruined castle and look inside the tower house.

And find the old summer house in the grounds, enjoyed by many!

There is a small visitor centre with an exhibition.

Dogs are allowed in the grounds on leads but not on the roof areas. Seems sensible to me!
