About Eltham Palace Gardens
Eltham Palace Gardens is an English Heritage property and is set in the 19 acre grounds of Eltham Palace.
You will find it hard to believe you are near to central London!
There is a mix of the old medieval and more up to date type planting.
A number of featured garden rooms are worth seeing including the Sunken Rose Garden and Rose Quadrant, The Moat with its super bridge and resident Carp, designer Herbaceous Border, Parkland Trees and the Rock Garden.
Refreshments are provided by the excellent Orchid House Café next to the Visitor Centre or take a picnic!
There is a children’s play area as well which you can see and supervise from the Orchid House Café.
And a very good second hand Bookshop and Gift Shop.
Of course the Palace is also well worth a visit so allow some time to take in the scope from Medieval to Art Deco as the Palace was rescued in the 1930’s by Stephen and Virginia Courtauld.
