Gilbert White’s House and Gardens are a splendid place to wander and relax.
Split into a number of different garden styles there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The main areas are The Six Quarters which are walled flower beds. Quite formal.
The Herb Garden including apple and pear trees.
The pond at the The Naturalists Garden is a natural habitat for newts.
The Meadow is an area given over to wildflowers and sheep grazing. Lucky sheep!
The shop and cafe uses fresh produce from The Kitchen Garden – I love these. Always inspiring!
If you like apples, pears and soft fruits then take a look at The Orchard garden and look out for the Hotbeds which are used to grow melons and cucumbers.
And finally there are three beehives on site in the meadow.
