About Kedleston Hall Garden
Kedleston Hall Garden is a formal 18th-century Pleasure Ground set in 800 acres of grounds.
The gardens are bounded by a a ha-ha wall and you can expect to see snowdrops in Spring.
There are some impressive statues, love the lion, and recent replanting means the look and feel is changing.
There is an Orangery which although no longer in use is a worth a look and the restored Hermitage allows you to pause for thought and contemplation as was originally the case in the 18th Century.
The Parklands are a lovely place for a short stroll or a longer hike. Be prepared though as some areas can get boggy and the lakeside walk is currently (winter 2025) shut due to storm damage.
Feel free to take a picnic as there are tables near to the visitor reception.
The Hall is an 18th Century mansion with Adam interiors and 1,000 objects from across the Asian continent.
You can get refreshments at the Restaurant offering snacks, hot & cold meals, sandwiches and at the Kiosk during peak times.
And there is a second hand Bookshop, a Shop selling gifts, seasonal and locally sourced products and a Plant Shop.
Christmas is special at Kedleston with the Hall decorated, an Advent Trail and Christmas food and drink served.
