About Kew Gardens

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to give them their full title, is a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 50,000 plants on site.

I was lucky enough to live close by for a few years and use to be able to get in for 50p!

Those days are gone but the gardens are as splendid as ever.

There is so much to see at Kew but for me there were always a few highlights.

I always liked the trails around the gardens, so much to explore. I always used to end up at the Pagoda for some reason!

When the Princess of Wales Conservatory was added it became a firm favourite. So exotic and always loved the giant waterlily!

And of course the Palm House stood large and was really like entering a different world – still is!

Other features inlcude the Rose Garden, Rock Garden, Japanese Landscape, Kitchen Garden, Alpine House, Children’s Garden and Lakes.

There are some super options for eating at Kew including the Orangery, Family Kitchen & Shop, Food Village and The Botanical Brasserie.

And you can shop to your hearts content at Victoria Plaza shop, the Family Kitchen & Shop and the Galleries Gift Shop.

There is a little train you can catch to get around the gardens. Well worth it for few extra ££!

Don’t take our word for how genuinely super these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Kew Gardens had to say:

“I absolutely loved our visit to Kew Gardens. It’s beautifully maintained and there is so much to see.”

“We thought it would be a good 3 -4 hours. How wrong we were. We were there for 10 hours and we still didn’t get to see everything.”

“In a word, spectacular! I’ve seen some beautiful gardens all over the world, but Kew is beyond compare.”
