About Leicester Botanic Garden
Leicester Botanic Garden and Attenborough Arboretum is actually four gardens from houses which have now been combined into one.
And within the garden there are now a number of distinct gardens for you to enjoy.
From the Water Garden, Sunken Garden, Fuchsia Collection, Desert House, Terrace, Sandstone Garden, Limestone Garden, Alpine House, Herb Garden, Giant Trees and Pinetum, Ponds and Tropical Glasshouse!
So plenty for you to see! I do love an Alpine House.
Watch out for the 12 permanent sculptures dotted around the grounds.
The Attenborough Arboretum is a five acre plot which has native trees planted in order of their arrival after the last ice age.
Be aware that the Glasshouse and Arboretum shut occasionally so check their opening times before you travel!
No refreshments are available on site unless you book a tour.
Keep an eye open for events like the Crocus Sundays and Plant Identification course.
