About Little Sparta Garden
Little Sparta Garden is a five acre garden created by Ian Hamilton Finlay and his wife Sue.
Containing sculptures, 270 artworks, temples and a number of distinct garden rooms.
These include an allotment, woodland garden, wild garden, temple garden, Roman garden and English parkland.
Expect to find lots of artworks with inscriptions and poetry.
It’s not really a traditional sculpture garden but as someone reviewing said a series of interventions of art into the landscape.
All is not as it seems!
No refreshments are available so bring your own!
.
There is a 700m walk from the car park to the gardens and is uphill so be prepared.
And dress accordingly to weather conditions!
