About Lydiard Park Walled Garden
Lydiard Park Walled Garden is set in a 260 acre estate with lots of room to run, walk, exercise dogs and enjoy the grounds.
The walled garden is open all year and is a rare example of an 18th Century garden.
Split into six main areas by a sundial and paths there are fruits, trees, flowers, shrubs and flowers all grown using organic methods.
The parallelogram design of the garden was designed to maximise sunlight throughout the year.
The garden is a haven for butterflies and bees which is a really good thing!
There is a lot of different wildlife in the park from birds, water fowl on the lakes, badgers, reptiles, foxes and deer.
How many can you spot?
There is a Childrens Play Area with swings, rope ladders, poles and an area just for toddlers.
The Forest Cafe and The Coach House Tea Room provide ample choices of refreshments.
You can also bring a picnic and even hire a BBQ!
And you can also take a tour of the Lydiard House Museum – extra charges apply.
Dogs policy
Assistance dogs only in the walled garden but all dogs are allowed in the wider park.
