About Lyveden Manor & Garden

Lyveden Manor & Garden near Oundle, is described as an intriguing Elizabethan lodge and moated garden.

Begun, but not completed by Sir Thomas Treshamit, the Gaaarden Lodge remains almost as it was in 1605 when work ground to a halt.

The Manor is open for a visit and hosts exhibitions and the bookshop.

The gardens is a classic Elizabethan Garden complete with terraces, spiral mounts, moats and an orchard.

Tours of the gardens are run by volunteers. Check at reception for starting times.

Take a walk through the surrounding meadows which provide ample food and shelter for the local wildlife.

For refreshments you can pop along to the Lyveden Manor Café which serves light lunches, homemade cakes, sandwiches and drinks.

There is seating inside and outside and dogs are welcome.

There is a lovely well stocked second hand bookstore for you to browse and buy at.
