Oxford Botanic Garden is the UK’s oldest botanical garden, established in 1621, and houses over 5,000 plant species.
It is only 20 minute walk from the centre of Oxford and there is no parking at the gardens – so you have been warned!
While not the largest gardens there is still plenty to see including the fascinating Carnivorous Plant House.
There is also the Water Lily House, Arid House, Rainforest House and the Conservatory.
There are some good walks down by the river, the glasshouses get rave reviews and watch out for random peacocks!
There is a shop and you are also encouraged to bring your own food if you like.
And don’t forget to check out their Christmas Fair each year!
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the botanic gardens.
Oxford Harcourt Arboretum
