Rydal Hall Gardens are part of the Rydal Park Estate developed in the 1600’s by renowned landscape architect Thomas Mawson.
They now include formal gardens, woodlands and features such as ‘The Grot’, or Grotto.
Which is a place to watch the spectacular Rydal Waterfalls just as William Wordsworth did! He wrote a poem. Maybe you could as well!
There are also ponds and red squirrels to watch out for.
Of note is the Sculpture Trail that has been developed and ends up at the Old School Room Tea Shop. Perfect!
And when walking look out for the Hydro Turbine display which powers the house as it has done for 100+ years.
Dogs are allowed in the gardens but please keep on a short lead as there is livestock around.
