About Sherborne Castle & Gardens

Sherborne Castle & Gardens is a Grade 1 listed garden and was one of Capability Brown’s first commissions.

Nowadays you can explore the 42 acres of gardens and pleasure grounds.

There are marked trails you can follow from maps such as the 2.1km The Pleasure Grounds and Fossil House Walk and the 1.6km Thatched Hut and Gingko Lawn Walk.

In the gardens you will find champion trees, an important Ginkgo tree, a 50 acre lake, a sunken garden, folly, shrubbery and clematis bridge.

And a lot more!

The The Walled Garden Restaurant offers refreshments for you just a short walk from the car park.

Dogs are allowed in the gardens on a lead at all times.

Dog are not allowed in the Castle though.
